It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lawrence Adams of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, who passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eli Adams and Tina Marshall Adams; his stepsons, John Pennington and Earl Pennington; his in-laws, Ray and Kathleen Pennington; and his siblings, Blanche Adams, Mabel Webb, Eltes Leasure, John Adams, Mose Adams, Eli Adams Jr., Bob Adams and Jim Adams.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian Pennington Adams of Catlettsburg, KY; his children, Sue Ann Barger (James) of Disputanta, VA, Christene Adams of Columbus, OH, Brenda Adams of Columbus, OH, Lori Messenger (Brian) of Huntington, WV, Lynnette Stevens of Catlettsburg, KY, Lawrence Adams Jr. (Angie) of Greenup, KY, Eric Adams of Ingles, FL and David Pennington (Becky) of Gahanna, OH; and his siblings, Wilma Adams of Huntington, WV, Maxine Ross (Bob) of Columbus, OH and Harold Adams (Donna) of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Steen Funeral Homes - Central Ave Chapel (1501 Central Ave, Ashland, KY 41101). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
