He was predeceased by: his parents, James L. Steele and Minnie Runyon Steele Clay; and his siblings, Donald "Duck" Hall and Jean Steele Ross. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Cox Steele of Catlettsburg; his children, Ray Steele (Dee) of Ashland, Brad Steele (Emily) of Ashland and Nancy Rogers (Chris) of Oklahoma City, OK; his siblings, Keith Hall (Keleen) of Catlettsburg, Nancy Potts of Catlettsburg and Linda Adkins (Lennis) of Boyd County; his grandchildren, Darian Steele McAllister (Luke), Branden Steele and Nina Steele; his nieces, Elizabeth Cline, Jo Ann Colvin, Ollie Colvin, Brooke Prince, Rikki Picklesimer and Terri Lynn Stewart; and his cousin Clara Carpenter. He is also survived by extended family and good friends.
