He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Schalk and Garnett Woeste Schalk; and his sister Anna Schalk. He is survived by: his wife Karen Riedeman Schalk; his sons, Chris Schalk (Bretta), Matthew Schalk and Patrick Schalk (Jennifer); his granddaughters, Bethany Minix (Austin), Mary Schalk and Anna Katherine Schalk; and his siblings, Alvin Schalk (Sharon), Roy Schalk (Missy), Joan Barbian, Wanda Smith (Doug) and Rosie Reed. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
