He is survived by : his children, Charlotte Farmer (Henry) and Rick Hardy; his grandchildren, Samantha Lewis (Willie), Sara Farmer and Gerald "JJ" Smith III; his great grandchildren, Adrianne Lewis and Brooklyn Lewis; his sisters, Pam Spurlock (Jim) and Dana Gains (Rick); and his nieces and nephews, Shawn Stewart and Sommer Holt.
