He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Steele and Irene Evitts Steele of Powderly, Kentucky.; his wife Charity Alnetta Stovall; and his siblings, Carl T. Steele, Cara Lee Steele Smith, William Earl Steele, T. H. Steele and Billy Steele.

He is survived by: his children, Cathy Vinson (Mike) of Greenville and Tony Steele (Rose) of Owensboro; his grandchildren, Jeremy Vinson (Jordan), Leanne Walker (Chad), Brooke Guffy (Chad), Brittany Sharp (Grant), Jacob Steele (Charity) and Catherine Steele; his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Maddie Vinson (Isaac Rose), Abe Walker, Dawson, Isaiah, Brock Guffy, Vince, Hattie Sharp, Sophia Westerfield and Jayden Steele; his sister Brenda Steele Piper (Tommy); and his siblings-in-law, Rita Stovall of Owensboro and Bob Stovall of Calhoun. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
