He was predeceased by: his parents, Sonnie Burden and Pansye Duvall Burden; his son Wayne Leon Burden; his great grandchild Sophia Grace Crawford; and his siblings, Willard Burden, James Burden, Jean Mackey and Betty Thomasson.

He is survived by: his wife Dana I. Burden; his granddaughters, Katina Hill (Brian) of Central City, Tracy Tucker (Tarvis) and Jaime Crawford (Jacob) of Lexington; his great grandchildren, Madison Epley (Daniel), Mackenzie Hill and Layla Crawford; his great great grandchild Jonah Hill; and his daughter-in-law Barbara Burden.
