He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan Pitts and Alene Helton Pitts; his siblings, Terry Pitts, David Pitts and Brenda Yarber; his son Shawn Rice; and his granddaughter Josephine Thacker.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Pitts; his children, Harlan Wayne Pitts, Jimmy Campbell, Patience Thacker (Jeremy), Melissa Rice-Mendoza (Harvey), Julie Campbell (Denny Esteppe) and Victoria Hall (Christian); his sisters, Patty Anderson (Walter) and Linda Arnold; his grandchildren, Alexis Ortiz, Madyson Mendoza, Macy Mendoza, Noah Mendoza, Travis Pitts, Gracelyn Thacker, Joshua Thacker, Elliana Thacker, Jeremiah Thacker, Josiah Thacker, Anneliese Thacker, Eila Thacker, Gracelynn Hall and Rhyker Esteppe; and his great grandchildren, Carson Ortiz and Bodhi Ortiz.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Wells Funeral Home (777 W College Ave, Stanton, KY 40380). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025.
