With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Margie Verline Burgess of Clinton, Kentucky, who passed away on February 4, 2026 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Margie's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Margie has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her husband James Leon Burgess; her son Danny Burgess; her sister Shirley Brown Manley; and her parents, Leon Derrington and Dorothy Derrington (Copeland).
She is survived by: her children, Tony Burgess of Bonne Terre, MO, Tim Burgess of St. Charles, MO and Lolita McKee of Wentzville, MO; and her sister Diane Humphries of Mayfield, KY. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren totaling eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
