She was predeceased by: her husband Roger J. Short; her parents, Fred Shackleford and Pauline Caldwell Shackleford; her grandfather Henry Shackleford; and her brothers, William Henry Shackleford and Michael Paul.
She is survived by: her siblings, David Shackleford (Frieda) and Janice McBurney (Leonard); her siblings' children, Bethany Rainey (Matthew), Leslie Pennington, Monica Whitman (Greg), Sarah Bennett, Clifford Pennington, Steven Shackleford, Austin Short (Megan) and Aaron Short; her cousin Rhonda Short (Kenneth); her sisters-in-law, Tammy Shackleford, Margie Eldridge, Joyce Bailey and Katherine Hutchinson; her grandchildren, Isabella Wright, Joshua Wright, Bryson and Mason Deleon; and her cousins, Lora Saylor (Wade) and Bill Mink (Judy). She is also survived by great-nephews and a great-niece.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Closplint Missionary Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
