Short of Closplint, Kentucky, born in Harlan, Kentucky, who passed away on May 7, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Short and Dora Bowman Short; and his brother Marvin Short. He is survived by: his wife Maxine Shackleford Short; his sisters, Margie Eldridge, Katherine Hutchison and Joyce Bailey (Ross); his nieces and nephews, Bethany Rainey (Matt), Leslie Ann Pennington, Monica Whitman (Greg), Sarah Bennett, Sarah Bailey, Lisa Bailey, Marcella Bailey, Holly Simpson (Buddy), Austin Short (Megan), Aaron Short, Benny Hutchison, Jr., Jim Eldridge (Heather), Calvin Eldridge (Kelly), Ben Eldridge (Lisa), Chris Short (Katherine) and Steve Shackleford; his grandchildren, Isabella Wright, Bryson Deleon and Joshua Wright; his brother-in-law David Shackleford (Freda); and also Ken Short (Rhonda). He is also survived by friends and his church family.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Evarts Funeral Home (119 Bridge St, Evarts, KY 40828). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
