He was predeceased by: his parents, John Orville and Cleo Philpot Gross; his wife Caroline Saylor Gross; his stepson Eddie Roark; his siblings, Kenneth, Orville, Kelly, Charles, Lester, Lloyd, Fred, William Gross, Ruby Cobler, Baye Gross and Viola Gross; and his daughter-in-law Tammy Roark.
He is survived by: his stepsons, Roy Anthony Roark (Tamera) of Molus, KY, Robert Roark of Molus, KY and Kenneth Roark of Wallins, KY; his brothers, John D. Gross (Susan) of Dayhoit, KY and James Gross of Bledsoe, KY.; his grandchildren, Isaiah Roark, Carrie Brock, Mark Johnson, Brittany, Cody and Donnie Hensley; and his great grandchildren, Easton Blevins, Nevaeh, Emmitt Blevins, Mella and Kayce Hensley.
