He is survived by: his wife Rosetta Andrew Shepherd of Columbia; his sons, Ed Shepherd of Russell Springs and Bobby Shepherd (Linda) of Russell Springs; and his grandchildren, Bethany Stamm, Alex Snider and Danielle Shepherd. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
