He was predeceased by : his parents, Virgil Cape and Mable Melson Cape; his wife Arlena Cape; his granddaughter Kayla Sneed; and his sisters, Robbie McCarol and Clara Alexander.

He is survived by : his son Ricky; his daughter-in-law Angela Cape of Shepherdsville; his daughter Karen; his son-in-law Mike Sneed of Columbia One; his brother Tommy Cape of Columbia Five; his grandchildren, Amanda Terrell (Matt), Isabella Cape, Landon Sneed and Ashley Pointer (Dustin); and his great grandchildren, Harper Terrell, Alexandria, Isaiah, Evelyn, Myla, Quinton and Jasper Pointer.
