He was predeceased by: his parents, David Janes and Rosie Crawhorn Kennedy; and his brothers, Randy Janes and David Janes. He is survived by: his siblings, Denise Oprzedek (Bryan) of Chicago Ridge, Sammy Janes of Lexington, Carl Smith of Greensburg and Walter Janes of Chicago, Illinois.; his uncle Charlie Crawhorn (Bernice) of Columbia; and his aunts, Lou Burton (Noel) of Campbellsville and Carrie Rowe of Chicago, Illinois..
