With sadness, we share the passing of Mendel Sexton of Columbia, Kentucky. Mendel, born on September 3, 1960, passed away on June 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Howard and Mary Rosaline Reece Sexton; and his son Brandon "Bubba" Sexton. He is survived by: his pets, Hamilton, Smokie, Pope and Butch; his wife LaGene Stephens Sexton of Columbia; his children, Bradley Sexton (Nikki) of Laurel, Meridith Lee (Jordan) of Columbia and Jessica Sexton of Columbia; his siblings, Mark Sexton (Alison) of Bowling Green, Sonja Reeder (Perry) of Columbia and Bruce Sexton (Shannon) of Columbia; his grandchildren, Kallen Sexton, Treyton Gist (Katelyn), Austin Gist and Corbin Lee; his great grandchild Reed Gist; and his caregiver Peggy Bunch.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the WHAS Crusade for Children, the Adair County Animal Shelter or Gideon Bibles.
