With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rita Smith of Columbia, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 26, 2026 at the age of 77. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Pyles and Eula Grant Pyles; and her siblings, Lyndall Pyles, Bernadine Drake, Katie Houiser, Cindy Rowe, Terry Lee Pyles and Betty Kerney.
She is survived by: her husband Larry Smith of Columbia, KY; her sons, Mark Franklin and Timmy Franklin (Tara); her grandson Mason Franklin (Amber); her great grandchild Kennedy; and her siblings, Barbara Flatt, Jeffery Pyles and Patty Wong. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
