She was predeceased by: her husband Burchel Hammons; her parents, Custer Johnson and Mattie Murphy; and her children, Edward Wayne Hammons, Benny Dinsmore and Patricia Helton.

She is survived by: her sons, Paul Hammons and Burchel Hammons; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Hodge and Tracy Hammons. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
