He is survived by: his wife Wanda Gayle Osborne Messer; his children, Connie Messer Evans (Brian) of London and Colson Messer Jr. (Kim) of Barbourville; his stepchildren, Matthew Hall (Stacey) and Leah Boggs (Benjamin); his siblings, Ima Jean Begley of Corbin, Bonnie Jackson of Lexington, Carol Williams of Corbin, John Messer Jr. of Westchester and Len Messer of Wellington; and his grandchildren, Colson Messer III, Presley Messer, Justin Wynn (Alisha), Jessica Wynn, Briana Evans, Hayley Harris (Mark), Emiley Clemens (Joey), Abbigale Hendricks, Seth Hall and Kyle Hall. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
