He is survived by: his wife Jo Eileen Mack Rains; his children, Paula Sullivan (Allen) and Steve Patrick; his grandchildren, Tyler Sullivan, Andrew Sullivan and Matthew Sullivan; and his siblings, Joe Rains (Anna), Ray Rains (Etta) and Faye Warfield (Larry). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
