He was predeceased by: his parents, George Tompkins and Vera Lois Cobb Tompkins; and his brothers, Paul and Billie Tompkins. He is survived by: his wife Emma Jean Tompkins; his children, Glenn Tompkins and Karen Messer; his grandchildren, Gina Barajas (Freddy Cruz), Amanda Peavley (Steven Peavley), Rachel Hubbard (Jacob Hubbard), Langdon Messer, Emily Messer, Erica Tipton and Cameron Collier; his great grandchildren, America Barajas, Graciela Barajas, Xander Cruz, Nick Hart, Abigail Peavley, Jeremiah Peavley, Abigail Bell and Lucas Hubbard; and his close friend Russell Smith. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
