He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Yates and Lola Yates; his former wife Billie Robinson Yates; his wife Ruth Pollitt Yates; and his siblings, Elizabeth McKeehan, Mazie Rogers, Leonard Yates, William C. Yates, Martha Campbell, Clyde Yates, Opal Russell, Dwight Glen Yates and Wilma Yates.
He is survived by: his son Ron Hacker (Martha); his grandchildren, Rhonda Aldaboos (Abdulla) and David Hacker (Carolee); his great grandchildren, Khalid Aldaboos, Ahmad Aldaboos, Rashid Aldaboos, Ibrahim Aldaboos and Holden Blankenship (Ryan); his great great grandchild Bentley Blankenship; his niece Polly Chiari (Bill); and his nephews, Pete Yates (Gail) and Jeff Hacker (Pam). He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
