He is survived by: his wife Sally Hyde Hughes; his children, Jenny Rebecca Hughes Saylor (John) and Richard "Ricky" Benton Hughes, Jr. (Jenni Sue); and his grandchildren, Bailey Ann Hughes Potter (Trae) and Gavin Blane Hughes.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hart Funeral Home (1011 Master St, Corbin, KY 40701). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel (1011 Master St, Corbin, KY 40701).
