He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Griffie and Mattie Caudill Griffie; his wife Zanna Jones Griffie; his daughter Shirley Griffie; and his sister Sandra Perry.

He is survived by: his children, Anita Watts (John) of Cornettsville, KY, Bobby Scott Griffie (Tammy) of London, KY and Kevin Griffie (Mischelle) of Cornettsville, KY; his siblings, Claudette Watts of Knott County, KY, Rena Vae Malone of Nicholasville, KY and Kenneth Griffie (Ina) of Lexington, KY; his grandchildren, Wesley, Christopher, Megan, Lexi, Jade and Bridgett; and his great grandchildren, Luke, Jaxon, Sawyer, Bentley, Brooks and Maggie.
