He was predeceased by : his parents, Dorris Mattingly and Naomi Mattingly; his siblings, John Daniel "Danny" Mattingly, Robert "Bobby" Mattingly, Dorris Edward Mattingly, Jr. of William Joseph, David Earl Mattingly, Mary Alice Workman and Charlotte Herron; and his grandparents, Lula Myrtle, George Muir, Sr., Sugar and Pappy King.
He is survived by : his wife Cathy Mattingly of Corydon, KY; his children, Nathan Mattingly (Cassandra) of Corydon, KY and Amy Mattingly-Kimsey (Michael) of Henderson, KY; his siblings, Judy Greathouse (Jeff), Donald Jeffrey Mattingly, Greg Mattingly, Susan Brooks of Henderson, KY, Tommy Mattingly of Booneville, IN, Paula Harper (Danny) and Tony Mattingly (Karen) of Henderson, KY; his grandchildren, Ashley (Tanner), Sarah, Maggie, Morgan, Sydney, Matthew, Logan, Adeline and Maddy; and his great grandchildren, April and Bryson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
