We announce the death of Mary Jean Daugherty of Covington, Kentucky, who passed away on July 14, 2026, at the age of 87. Mary Jean will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Sauer and Elsie Sauer (Benz); her husband Lyle Dean Daugherty; her siblings, Billy Sauer, Joanne Damon and Betty Briedis; and her brother-in-law Terry Daugherty.
She is survived by: her children, Cindy Plumley (Scott) of Independence, KY, Dr. Christy Johnson (Larry) of Owenton, KY, Stacey Carolan (Ed) of Union, KY, Tom Daugherty of Dry Ridge, KY and Joe Daugherty (Michelle) of Sparta, KY; her grandchildren, Brandon Plumley (Julie), Lauren Heeger (Justin), Elizabeth Edwards, Matt Edwards (Christina), Noah Reilly, Kaitlin Sword (Jacob), Christina Perkins (Jared), Katherine Johnson (Zach Hall), Evan Daugherty, Avri Daugherty, Trevor Daugherty, Kristin Trutschel (Chad), Zachary Kelly (Sarah), Dean Carolan and Marley Carolan; her great grandchildren, Jerin, Jaycee, Brynn, Jayden, Jordan, Jessa, Jaxon, Mason, Liam, Ellie, Sydney, Charlie, Camden, Joey, Eli and Owen Kelly; and her sisters-in-law, Anji Hurt of Alexandria and Barb Daugherty of Demossville.
