He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Katherine "DeeDee" Smeeks (Dee Dee). He is survived by: his father Leroy Smeeks; his wife Shari Smeeks (Yelton); his brothers, Matthew Smeeks (Sara) and Casey Smeeks (Mary); his aunt Nancy; his uncle Wally Bawn; his children, Ben Smeeks and Erin Spalvis (Jeff); his stepchildren, Kassee Fox, Dean Fox and Andrew Fox (Stephanie); and his grandchildren, Hannah Fox, Cord Schmale and Lynlee Fox. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Donations may be made, in his name, to Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, Kentucky.
