He is survived by: his wife April Lynn Lawson (Said); his son Jason Shields; his siblings, Joyce Lawson, Molly Wagers (Jimmy), Kenneth Deskins and Charles Deskins (Brenda); his close friend Ray Clinton; and his grandson Jason Shields II.
