He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley A. Mains and Robert W. Mains; and his brother Timothy Charles Mains. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Lynn Combs (John W. Combs III) and Justin Wayne Mains; his grandchildren, John W. Combs IV, Autumn Olivia Mains, Aniya Alyssa Mains and Alannah Rose Brown; his siblings, Sally Ann Hodges, Linda Gail Deaton and Dennis Lee Mains; and his pet Pepper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Don Catchen & Family Funeral Homes (3525 Dixie Hwy, Elsmere, KY 41018). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
