He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Smith and Thelma Lee Nachand Beard. He is survived by: his children, Carl B Beard (Missy) and Laura N Beard (Scott Simpson); his grandchildren, Carl Joseph Beard, Graeme Benjamin Hutcherson, Sarah Michelle Beard and Ciel Faye Hutcherson; and his brother Charles W Beard.
