It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Jeanette Wathen (Crestwood, Kentucky), born in Lebanon, Kentucky, who passed away on January 21, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Thompson and Emma Thompson; her husband Joseph M. Wathen, Sr.; her son Tim Wathen; and her siblings, Richard "Bryce" Riggs, Toby Hall, Geneva Osbourne, Theresa Carrico, Cynthia Molinda, Emma Higdon, Mary "Patsy" Osborne, Christine Hayden, Willard Thompson, Bernard Thompson and Woodrow Thompson.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph McGee Wathen Jr. (Cindy), Alisa Lipsky (David) and Julita Mann (Chris); her daughter-in-law Cindy Wathen (David); her grandchildren, Christopher Wathen (Melina), Branden Wathen (Jennifer), Joseph Mann (Tori), Jeston Mann (Sidney), Elizabeth Mann, Zachary O'Daniel (Erika) and Kyndall Lipsky (Claire Wathen); and her great grandchildren, Emil, Nora, Molly, Mia, Bennett and Lucy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to American Cancer Society or Mass of the Air.
