He was predeceased by: his parents, Vivian Jane Frahm and Severn. He is survived by: his children, Richard Thompson (Valerie) of Crutchfield, Bruce Thompson of Dresden, Patti Brunson of The Colony and Tammie Selvey (Glen) of Bradley, Illinois. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
