He is survived by: his parents, Steven Merrill (Carolyn) and Charlene Bonzey; his wife Haley Theresa Merrill; his children, Kaine Eual Choate, Eliza Rose Choate and Harley Lynn Choate; his brothers, Kyle Merrill (Stephanie) and T. J. Merrill (Stephanie); his nephew Callum Elliot Merrill; his grandparents, Ronald, Barbara Bonzey and Lorna Merrill; his stepsiblings, Brad Leger and Rachel Leger; Heidi Vokes (Tyler).
