He was predeceased by : his parents, Alfred Edwin Emil Vahlkamp Sr. and Marie Lowry Vahlkamp; his brother Alfred Edwin Emil Vahlkamp Jr.; and his brother-in-law Michael Arnold. He is survived by : his wife Sarah McLaurin Vahlkamp; his children, Jane Vahlkamp Andrus and Charles Gustav "Gus" Vahlkamp Jr.; his grandsons, Mark Robert Boswell (Lindsay), Jonathan Charles Boswell and Daniel Richard Andrus; his nieces, Gretchen Vahlkamp Danly and Ingrid Vahlkamp Stassi; his nephew Alfred Edwin Emil "Win" Vahlkamp; his cousins, Charles Lowry and Sara Lowry Page; and his sisters-in-law, Mary McLaurin and Merle Vahlkamp.
