He was predeceased by : his parents, Joe Delmar Griffin and Lyona Howe Griffin; and his brother Joe Willis Griffin. He is survived by : his children, Christopher Tony Griffin (Lindsay), Ryan Scott Griffin, Shaun Keith Griffin, Christy Lynn Thomas and Galloway (Faye Rogers); and his grandchildren, Joseph Pierce, Jonathan Pierce, Jacob Pierce, Seirra Griffin, Terry Thomas, Shannon Thomas, Cody Jervis and Kelsey Presley. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery (6980 Danville Rd, Nicholasville, KY 40356). The military honors was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at the United States Marine Corps and the American Legion.
