He is survived by: his wife Cheryl; his children, Christopher (Liz), Michael (Jane), Mary Quinn (Jeff), Simms (Jennifer) and Martha (Daniel); his grandchildren, Alie, Adie, Eyan, Sophia, Winston, Charlotte, Wolfe, Wren, Eliza and Ben; and his brother Steve Gibson.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the First Christian Church (555 E Lexington Ave, Danville, KY 40422). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

Out of profound gratitude for the compassionate care given to Gary, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Heritage Hospice or Visiting Angels. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Gary T. Gibson 's name.
