With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ima Jean McCowan (Danville, Kentucky), who passed away on September 30, 2023 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Shafter Tinsley and Fannie Thompson Tinsley; her husband Matthew "Pete" McCowan; her daughter Meredith; and her siblings, Alfred Thompson, Hazel Juanita Tinsley Clark (John Clark), Roselle Tinsley (Barbara Tinsley) and Richard Tinsley (Peggy).
She is survived by : her daughters, Priscilla McCowan, Carla McCowan-Alston (Reginald) and Mavis McCowan; her grandsons, David Alston and Daniel Alston; her aunts, Joy Ella Boulware and Opal Tinsley; and her sister-in-law Peggy Tinsley. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
