He is survived by: his wife Terry Rye Gilbert; his children, Jennifer Newby and Joey Gilbert (Michelle); his grandchildren, Paige Newby, Jenna Newby, Cora Gilbert and Benjamin Gilbert; his siblings, Imogene Brown (Larry), Gary Gilbert (Marlene) and Sondra Townsend (Eddie); and his brother-in-law Kevin Rye (Linda). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and one great-great-niece.
