He was predeceased by : his parents, Howard Godbey and Ada Dick Godbey; and his siblings, Oral, Bill, Luther, Gene Godbey, Delores Murray and Lillie Moore.
He is survived by : his wife Paula Colleen; his children, Edward Stuart Godbey of Nevada, Douglas Owen Godbey (Lucinda) of Arizona and Staci Godbey Dean (James Eric); his siblings, Roy Godbey of Texas and Margaret Burton (Chuck) of Ohio; and his granddaughter Rosalinda Sue Hammond.
