He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Newby and John Will Newby; and his siblings, Norma Newby Yankey, Mary Florence Catlett and John Michael Newby.

He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Cotton Newby; his children, John Newby (Patti) and Robyn Coffman (Junie); his grandchildren, Cayti, Crystal, Lexy, Pierce, Emma, Cari, Valerija and David; and his great grandchildren, Micah, Seth, Luca, Mila, Rowan, Declan, Vivienne, Grayson, Milana and Vera.
