He is survived by: his wife Mae Bell Cates of Dawson Springs, KY; his children, Pamela Ann Owen (James) of Crofton, KY, Michael Wayne Cates (Tena) and Ricky Glenn Cates (Sandi) of Madisonville, KY; his sister-in-law Shirley Cates of Madisonville, KY; his grandchildren, Casey Owen, Justin Owen, Josh Owen, Chris Cates, Brandon Cates, Nick Cates, Matthew Brown and Jason Brown; his great grandchildren, Alex Cates, Jackson Owen, Eric Owen, Zelda Owen, Emmalyn Cates and Mason Cates; and his stepgrandchildren, Elijah Cashman, Stephanie Cashman and Sarah Cashman.
