Doris Mitchell Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Mitchell (Dixon, Kentucky), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 2, 2025 at the age of 86. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Doris Mitchell to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Sutton and Jewell Sutton (Lynn); her husband Charles H. Mitchell, Jr.; her sister Carol Sue Newton; and her grandson John Joseph "Jack" Flood III.
She is survived by: her daughters, Teresa Flood and Cheryl VanPatten (Joe); her brother Tommy Sutton (Sara); her grandchildren, Kelly Flood, Jake, Gavin Southworth, Alexis Mitosinka (Tyler) and Zach VanPatten; her great grandchildren, Ari and Willow Mitosinka; and her aunt Mildren Russell. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Townsend Funeral Home (140 US-41 ALT, Dixon, KY 42409).
