He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Wright and Marie Belcher Wright; his wife Melinda Wright; and his siblings, Henrietta Wright, Henry "JJ" Wright and Lovell Wright.

He is survived by: his son Donald Wright II; and his siblings, Rosetta Wright, Brenda Wright and Doug Wright.
