He was predeceased by: his parents, James Macon Gardner, Sr. and Eula Hunt Gardner; his daughter Karen Gardner; and his sisters, Carmon Perry and Katharine Cecil.
He is survived by: his wife Anita Harper Gardner of Dunmor; his children, Betty Harper (Billy) of Penrod and Terry Gardner (Rebecca) of Dunmor; his grandsons, Matthew Alexander (Chasity) of Central City, Mark Alexander of Williamsburg, KY, Bradley Piper (Kristen) of Owensboro, Joshua Piper (Paradise) of Owensboro and Harlan Gardner of Dunmor; his great grandchildren, Alyssa Alexander of Central City, Willow Piper of Owensboro, Kendra Gallagher of Owensboro, Kaylee Cooper of Owensboro, Kami Gallagher of Owensboro, Gabriel Piper of Owensboro, Caleb Piper of Owensboro and Keith Bryant of Owensboro; and his great great grandchildren, Ka'vontae Gallagher of Owensboro and Kayson Gallagher of Owensboro.
