He was predeceased by: his parents, Granville McDonald and Ophillia Tungate McDonald; and his siblings, Nicholas McDonald, Phillip McDonald, Joseph McDonald, Vonald McDonald, Burdis Burress, Gracie Brown and Merline Foster.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Garrett McDonald; his daughter Donna Thomas (Floyd) of Nashville; his stepchildren, Gary Schubert of Liberty and Chris Schubert of Liberty; his grandchildren, Brandie Skaggs and Brandon Holt; his great grandchild Riley Skaggs; his brothers, George McDonald of Campbellsville and David McDonald of Campbellsville; his nephew Henry Burress of Elkhorn; and his grandson Brandon Schubert of Dunnville. He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
