He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Lee and Opal Taylor Auxier; and his wife Gertrud Anna Stein Auxier. He is survived by: his sons, James Edgar Auxier (Kristi) of Las Vegas, Jody Waylon Auxier of East Point and Lonnie Clayton Auxier (Melissa) of East Point; his sister Sherry Slone of Staffordsville; and his stepchildren, Timothy Josef Foster of Springfield, OH, Charles Eugene Foster (Misty) of Springfield, OH and Pamela Anna Foster Ambrose (Shawn) of Florida. He is also survived by four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home (807 S Mayo Trail, Paintsville, KY 41240). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
