He was predeceased by: his parents, Rollie Sampson and Gladys Brown Sampson; his son Joshua David Sampson; his granddaughter Maely Vance; and his siblings, Bobby Sampson, Sue Stanley and Kay Saling.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Saling Sampson of Echols; his daughters, Kathy Vance (Chase) of Echols and Nikki Allen (Shaney) of Beaver Dam; and his brother Mike Sampson (Sue) of Echols. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
