We announce the death of John David Rabe (Edgewood, Kentucky), who passed away on July 24, 2026, at the age of 90. John David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferdinand A. Rabe and Aurelia Rabe (Hellmann); his wife Barbara Rabe; and his siblings, Ferd A. Rabe, Jr., George F. Rabe, Walter J. Rabe and Mary Aurelia Rice.
He is survived by: his children, Julie Glassmeyer (Don), Susan Trenkamp (Nick), David Rabe (Ginny), Steven Rabe, Andrea Behne (Tony), Nicole Jordan (Eric) and Daniel Rabe; his siblings, Francis Rabe and Carol Ann Readnour; and his siblings-in-law, Mark Simpson (Nancy), Mary Ann Scheper and Jan Rabe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
