He was predeceased by: his parents, John Smith and Katherine Smith (Geis). He is survived by: his wife Sarah "Sallie" Smith (Betz); his children, Christian Smith and Stephanie Terhar; and his granddaughters, Emma Terhar and Grace Terhar.
