He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Sue Schmidt; his parents, Bernard Schmidt and Rosemary Schmidt; and his siblings, Bernard Schmidt Jr., James Schmidt, Daniel Schmidt and Lynne Noll.
He is survived by: his sons, Joshua Schmidt and Stephen Schmidt Jr. (Leah); his grandchildren, Colby Ethan Schmidt, Chloe Leah Sue Schmidt and Trent Danger Schmidt; and his sister Rosalie McDavid.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Barbara Roman Catholic Church (4042 Turkeyfoot Rd, Erlanger, KY 41018). A Mass was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
