He is survived by: his wife Kathy Vessels (McFeely Brown); his children, Donna Hiles (Whalin), Joseph Whalin, Tanya Ray-Caldera (Brown), William Eric Vessels and Stephen Wayne Brown; and his sisters, Marilyn Matthews (P. D.) and Geraldine Kingstone. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
